About Badminton

Badminton is the world’s fastest racket sport reaching up to 400km/h. The common forms of the game are played in singles, doubles, and mixed. The sport demands high levels of physical fitness, as players require aerobic stamina, agility, strength, speed and precision. As a technical sport, it requires good motor coordination and the development of racket movements. Since 1992, badminton has been a Summer Olympic sport, of which is run by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee. BWF has a vision of “giving every child a chance to play”.


 As the sport ranges from strokes, turns and jumps, badminton is a sport that can be enjoyed by a range of players, from social to Olympic levels. There is always a club near you!
